 Remember Christmas
I remember Christmas
when Christmases were white,
when carolers came caroling
despite the frosty bite,
when children watched for Santa Claus
by moon and candlelight.
O I remember Christmas
when Christmases were white.

I remember Christmas
before the tinsel came,
when red-cheeked relatives arrived
with cider, food and game,
when Mama trimmed the tree
with popcorn balls and candy canes.
O I remember Christmas
before the tinsel came.

I remember Christmas
when angels filled the sky,
when Nana held me close
and sang a Christmas lullaby,
when kitchens smelled of tangerines
and home-made pumpkin pie.
O I remember Christmas
when angels filled the sky.

O I remember Christmas
when Christmases were white,
when Papa hitched his horse to sleigh
and o'er the snow we'd ride.
He'd tell the tale about the Child
born poor that holy night.
O I remember Christmas
when Christmases were white.
